FT09 - Florence Trust Artists ~ FT09 Summer Exhibition
3rd July 2009 - 15th July 2009

The FT09 Summer Exhibition showcases the work of the eleven international artists selected for the FT09 Studio Residency Programme. The work spans a broad range of medium including painting, photography, sculpture, installation and sonic work.

Over their twelve month residency the artists have either been attracted or repelled by the magnificent gothic interior of the church, with many artists taking their inspiration from this new environment and creating site-specific works. Other artists have used thir time at the trust to strengthen and develop their existing artistic concerns. Works range from large scale sculptural structures, to graveyard inspired painting, fantasy landscapes and obsessive drawing series.

The exhibition is accompanied by a full colour catalogue with a foreword by the Director, Paul Bayley and a catalogue essay by RCA lecturer, curator and writer Kit Hammonds.
