Statement
My work explores the notions of place and memory. I am interested in trans-cultural identities, fragmentation of the self and formulation of identity.
In my practice I explore these notions through images - each of them bearing evidence of memory - a trace, a shadow or a graphic trail, partly erased.
I attempt to achieve this through the use of different mediums, including painting, drawing, photography, animation and installation. I also work with wall drawings - I enjoy their ‘transient’ quality and their ephemeral nature, which seems to reflect the notions of place and memory.
More recently my work has evolved into mixed media installations, which combine images of my own and found archive images of varying dimensions; sometimes re-worked and presented scatter-hung over adjoining walls.
